The Public Protection Bureau represents the State of Nebraska in enforcing the One-Call Notification Act, also referred to as "Call Before You Dig". The One-Call Notification Act is designed to protect underground pipeline facilities, excavators and the public by giving excavators a means to make "one call" to notify facility operators of their intention to excavate so that underground facilities may be properly marked. The Bureau files actions for civil penalties against individuals who fail to call the Digger's Hotline prior to excavation or otherwise violate provisions of the One-Call Act. For more information about the One-Call Notification Act, contact the Attorney General's Office at 402-471-2682 or visit www.ne-diggers.com.
