Attorney General Jon Bruning would like to recognize individuals across the State who perform extraordinary acts of service for the people of Nebraska.
The Attorney General will present the 2013 Extraordinary Service Awards at the Police Officers' Association of Nebraska conference in Kearney on October 7.
The Act of Valor Award shall be presented to officers of the law, firefighters, EMTs or other public safety servants for any display of bravery or valor in a time of uncertainty. The recognition will be awarded for any selfless act in which the individual acted heroically; perhaps by disregarding his/her own personal safety, in order to protect the life or well-being of another.
The Protecting Children Award shall be presented to any individual involved with successfully investigating or prosecuting a child exploitation case. Educators, officers of the law, social services workers or anyone whose role requires direct interaction with young people may be qualified. This award will be presented to recognize those who have acted above and beyond their normal duties to aid in the rescue of a child from a desperate situation.
